Do you train intensively and want to stay comfortable and dry whilst doing so?
Suzukaze means ‘cooling breeze’: light, airy and comfortable during high-intensity training.
The Kendo Gi SUZUKAZE combines traditional kendo design with modern functionality – ideal for long training sessions, courses or warm days in the dojo.
Material & Function
The Kendo Gi SUZUKAZE combines classic cotton with modern performance fibres.
Inside the gi is a special Coolmax performance fleece that quickly absorbs moisture from the skin and wicks it away.
This keeps your skin feeling pleasantly dry even during intensive training sessions, and the gi is significantly more comfortable to wear than traditional cotton models.
The outer fabric is made from 100% cotton and is traditionally dyed using the Aizome (indigo) method. This dyeing method gives the gi its characteristic, deep colour and ensures an authentic look in the dojo.
Comfort & Training Experience
The combination of functional material and cotton fabric creates a gi that is both breathable and pleasantly sturdy.
The fabric lies smoothly against the body, supports free movement and ensures that you can concentrate fully on technique, timing and posture.
The moisture-wicking properties are particularly noticeable during intense keiko sessions.
Care & Notes
The traditional Aizome dyeing process is not fully set after dyeing. This may result in slight colour transfer, particularly with new gi.
Blue fingers are sometimes simply part and parcel of traditional kendō equipment.
To ensure a long lifespan, we recommend particularly gentle care.
Hand washing in the bath helps to preserve the colour. Adding a small amount of vinegar to the wash water can reduce colour loss and gradually set the colour.
The gi should be hung up in the shade to dry.
