TASUKI
The TASUKI is a classic Japanese sash used to neatly tie the sleeves of a kimono, montsuki or iaido-gi at the back.
Practical, steeped in tradition and surprisingly useful: when you need your arms free, the Tasuki keeps your sleeves where they belong – out of the way.
A small detail with a big impact.
Material & Function
Made from cotton, the Tasuki feels comfortable against the skin whilst providing the necessary stability for a secure hold.
The tubular design ensures a comfortable fit, a neat appearance and flexible adjustment when tying.
Traditionally, the Tasuki is used in Japan to tie up sleeves during work, ceremonies, archery or Budō activities – wherever freedom of movement is required.
Fit & Use
The tasuki is draped over the shoulders and back, securely fastening the sleeves at the back. This allows the hands, forearms and clothing to move freely.
This ensures a neat appearance and greater freedom of movement, particularly in iaidō, when wearing formal attire, or during traditional demonstrations.
Use in training & everyday life
Ideal for iaidō, Japanese ceremonial attire, demonstrations, photo shoots or anywhere where long sleeves would get in the way.
Also perfect if you want to add that final authentic touch to your outfit.
